The Airman and Family Readiness Center (A&FRC) assists individuals with researching and reaching for their career goals. We provide employment skills training to prepare you for a job search - resume writing, interview skills, local job market information, and so much more!  We can help you learn the Bay Area Local, State and Federal job markets, and how to find job sources abroad if you are PCSing, retiring or separating. Open to all DoD ID card holders, including DoD civilians and their family members.

These electronic job boards are updated 1 to 2 times a week.

Spouse Employment Orientation

Spouse Employment Orientation Learn about all of the resources A&FRC provides for a military spouse seeking a job or career development services. Held 2 times a month please see class schedule. Overview of all job search services available plus college and job skills training opportunities in the local area. Get exposed to all employment opportunities in the surrounding area. On-base and Off-base opportunities will be the focus. Please visit the employment postings under the employment tab for the most current job openings.

Ultimate Job Search Workshop Schedule

Sign-up for this comprehensive job search skills workshop to include skills assessment, Financial management, preparing for the job search, job search strategies, how to work job and career fairs, networking benefits, resume writing, following up on job opportunities, cover letters and interview techniques. This course is geared for the active job seeker, and will get you motivated for the planning and preparation it takes to land the ultimate job. Open to all job seekers (Active duty, Retiree's, Military Spouses, Family Members, college students). This workshop is held on the 1st Tuesday of each month unless otherwise noted on the calender. This course is essential to ensurring you are ready and prepared. All geared in helping your transition into civilian employment or just getting that next job.

10-Steps to A Federal Job

This course will take you through the 10-step process for applying for a federal job. We will discuss the federal job process, networking (LinkedIn). researching announcements, finding key terminology, proper format, discuss supplemental questionaires and KSA's. We will go through the http://www.usajobs.gov/www.onetonline.org "ONET", and http://www.opm.gov/ all helping your build a resume and understand the process to make you float to the top of the pile of applicants. There is nothing you need to bring to the class. You will recieve the 10-Steps to a Federal Job workbook and knowledge to prepare you for the federal hiring process. .   

Resume 101 Workshop

On the 3rd Tuesday of each month this is a must go to class for those struggling with their resume. Learn to build a resume and format a resume that will be esthetically pleasing and one that will catch the employers eye to call you for an interview. We will go over commercial and Federal resumes to teach you the differences. We will go over Chronological, Functional, and Combination resume and which one is best for you. We will also go over Targeting of the resumes and how to do this effectively to get you to the interview process. This is a short to the point with all the tips and techniques to make your resume the best it can be.

Resume Review Workshop 

This is a great way to have several different eyes on your resume to make your resume is as effective and powerful as possible. This will ensure that you have the best format, content is accurate and targeted to the job that you are applying for. Recommended that you take the Resume 101 class prior to coming to the Resume Review Workshop. This class is held from 0800-1200 on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.

We sponsor and coordinate four job fairs a year. The employers that we invite are all actively looking to hire canidates from our Job Fairs. We have small business, large businesses from the local area, temp agencies, county , state and federal agencies all looking for canidates. Have a commercial resume and federal resume ready to hand out to the HR personnel and "Dress to Impress".
