The Airman and Family Readiness Center (A&FRC) assists individuals with researching and reaching for their career goals. We provide employment skills training and resources to prepare you for a job search - resume writing, interview skills, local job market information, and so much more!  We can help you learn about the Bay Area Local, State and Federal job markets, and how to find job sources abroad if you are PCSing, retiring or separating. Open to all DoD ID card holders, including DoD civilians and their family members. We work closely with California EDD, Solano County WIB and variety of hiring managers from local industry, Federal, State, County and City for employment opportunities. Our military-friendly partnership allow our veterans and spouses opportunities to network into their new careers.







Spouses, all military/DoD Civilian members considering separating or retiring and family members that need assistance with how and where to get started on what to do and where to go to get started on the furture of job seach and programs available.  Whether you are NEW to California or a NEW job-seeker, this workshop will introduce you to all of the local job seeker resources, services and career options from San Francisco to Sacramento. Workshop will consist of Job Interest assessment, Employment website navigation, home business ideas, unemployment processing information, and Temp/Staffing agency assistance.  Visit the A&FRC anytime to learn about the resources we provide through the Employment Assistance Program, every 1st Tuesday of the month from 8am- 12Pm

2) RESUME 101

Spouses and all military/DoD Civilian members needing assistance in getting started on a resume. Writing your private sector resume, covers the different formats and how to's.  BRING LAPTOP TO WRITE RESUME IN CLASS.  Staff is there to help during class time. every 2nd Tuesday from 8am - 12pm


Spouses, and spouse PPP eligible, all military/DoD Civilian members may attend.  Workshop covers how to build your federal resume into the USAJob.gov builder. Covers the Do's and Don'ts of the process, and how to be highly qualified for any position you apply for. every 2nd Tuesday from 8am - 11am 


Spouses and all military/Dod Civilian members may attend. Workshop consists of Job Search, cover letter tips, How the employer hires, social media and networking, salary negotiation, and Interview Attire for men and women video based. every 3rd Tuesday of the month from 8am-12pm

4) Mastering the Interview (MOCC interviews with staff)

Spouses and all military/DoD civilian members may attend. Interview Tips and Preparation with MOCC interview practice going through the most common questions asked at an interview and how to respond. every 4th Tuesday of the month from 8am - 12pm

5) Prepare for the Fair

Spouses and all military and DoD Civilian members may attend. Job Fair preparation before the job fair on what to wear, resumes, business cards, talking points, elevator/star statements, working the fair Before & After. Offered before each career fair on Travis AFB.

2) Resume 101 Workshop

This is a must go to class for those who find resume writing a challenge. Bring a Laptop, VMET https://dmdc.osd.mil/tgps, EPR/OPR (performance ratings), Transcripts, Certifications, Licensure, Certificates, sample job posting, summary of work history and any other documents to assist you with creating your resume template. We will go over resume types, do's and don'ts, targeting resumes and you will leave with a draft resume. This class is held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 8-11am.

3) Ultimate Job Search Workshop

Sign-up for this comprehensive job search skills workshop to include skills assessment, financial management, preparing for the job search, job search strategies, how to work job and career fairs, networking benefits, resume writing, following up on job opportunities, cover letters and interview techniques and developing your online profile on Linkedin. This course is geared for the active job seeker, and will get you motivated for the planning and preparation it takes to land the ultimate job. Open to all job seekers (Active duty, Retiree's, Military Spouses, Family Members, college students). This workshop is held on the 3rd  Tuesday of each month from 8-12pm


4) Social Media Boot Camp - Jobs 2.0 *NEW WORKSHOP*

Are you "Linkedin" to your next job opportunity?  This workshop is a quick and dirty guide for job seekers on how to use Social Media strategies of Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin to land your next job.   This workshop is held of the 4th Tuesday of each month from 0900-1000. **Bring a Laptop**



10-Steps to A Federal Job

This course will take you through the 10-step process for applying for a federal job. We will discuss the federal job process, networking (LinkedIn). researching announcements, finding key terminology, proper format, discuss supplemental questionaires and KSA's.

We will go through  http://www.usajobs.gov/http://www.onetonline.org/ "ONET", and http://www.opm.gov/ all helping your build a resume and understand the process to make you float to the top of the pile of applicants. There is nothing you need to bring to the class. You will recieve the 10-Steps to a Federal Job workbook and knowledge to prepare you for the federal hiring process.

Process for How to work a Job Fair  

We sponsor and coordinate four job fairs a year. The employers that we invite are all actively looking to hire canidates from our Job Fairs. We have small business, large businesses from the local area, temp agencies, county , state and federal agencies all looking for canidates. Have a commercial resume and federal resume ready to hand out to the HR personnel and "Dress to Impress".
