The Airman and Family Readiness Center (A&FRC) assists individuals with researching and reaching for their career goals. We provide employment skills training and resources to prepare you for a job search - resume writing, interview skills, local job market information, and so much more!  We can help you learn about the Bay Area Local, State and Federal job markets, and how to find job sources abroad if you are PCSing, retiring or separating. Open to all DoD ID card holders, including DoD civilians and their family members.

Resume 101 Workshop

This is a must go to class for those who find resume writing a challenge. Bring a Laptop, VMET, EPR/OPR (performance ratings), Transcripts, Certifications, Licensure, Certificates, sample job posting, summary of work history and any other documents to assist you with creating your resume template. We will go over resume types, do's and don'ts, targeting resumes and you will leave with a draft resume. This class is held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 8-11am.

Resume Review Workshop 

This is a great way to have several different eyes on your resume to make your resume is as effective and powerful as possible. This will ensure that you have the best format, content is accurate and targeted to the job that you are applying for. Recommended that you take the Resume 101 class prior to coming to the Resume Review Workshop. This class is held from 1-4pm on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.


Ultimate Job Search Workshop

Sign-up for this comprehensive job search skills workshop to include skills assessment, financial management, preparing for the job search, job search strategies, how to work job and career fairs, networking benefits, resume writing, following up on job opportunities, cover letters and interview techniques and developing your online profile on Linkedin. This course is geared for the active job seeker, and will get you motivated for the planning and preparation it takes to land the ultimate job. Open to all job seekers (Active duty, Retiree's, Military Spouses, Family Members, college students). This workshop is held on the 3rd  Tuesday of each month from 8-12pm


10-Steps to A Federal Job

This course will take you through the 10-step process for applying for a federal job. We will discuss the federal job process, networking (LinkedIn). researching announcements, finding key terminology, proper format, discuss supplemental questionaires and KSA's. We will go through the http://www.usajobs.gov/www.onetonline.org "ONET", and http://www.opm.gov/ all helping your build a resume and understand the process to make you float to the top of the pile of applicants. There is nothing you need to bring to the class. You will recieve the 10-Steps to a Federal Job workbook and knowledge to prepare you for the federal hiring process.

We sponsor and coordinate four job fairs a year. The employers that we invite are all actively looking to hire canidates from our Job Fairs. We have small business, large businesses from the local area, temp agencies, county , state and federal agencies all looking for canidates. Have a commercial resume and federal resume ready to hand out to the HR personnel and "Dress to Impress".
