You will be assigned a sponsor. No need to wait for them to contact you. Download the Travis AFB Newcomer Needs Assessment and simply forward it to your sponsor. It will provide your sponsor with invaluable insight with which to provide you (and your family) outstanding sponsorship. Not sure who your sponsor is? Action Upon Arrival at Travis AFB
Upon arrival, your initial stop on the first duty day is Customer Service Central, located in Bldg 381 (the building "on the hill"). Personnel specialists will walk you through initial arrival steps.
Mandatory Newcomers' Orientation
Newcomers' Orientation occurs each Thursday (except Federal Holidays, Wing Family Days and unless otherwise specified) from 0710-1200 at the Airman and Family Readiness Center, Building 660. Doors open at 0710. Participants MUST be seated by 0720 as the Orientation begins with opening remarks by the 60AMW CC. Newcomers' Orientation is MANDATORY for all active-duty personnel not attending FTAC, regardless of unit of assignment, new to Travis AFB. Spouses of active duty personnel and DoD civilian employees may attend. You MUST register, please go to our main page at: www.travisafrc.com and click on the "sign up for a class" icon on the right-hand side.

Spouse Welcome Tour
Childcare is provided through the Childcare for PCS program which offers 20 hours of free childcare per child through FCC providers. Invest a few hours learning about the community, schools, and activities plus tools and information related to possible employment. The Spouse Welcome Tour is held on the third Thursday (unless otherwise posted) of each month from 9:00 AM - 12:30PM during high PCS season only (May-September).
Household items are available to borrow while awaiting shipment of household goods. The Loan Locker is at the Airman's Attic. Call (707) 424-8740 for information. Hours are Tuesday from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM, Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 PM. Contact Airman's Attic for Saturday hours.
