Action Upon Arrival at Travis AFB
Upon arrival, your initial stop on the first duty day is Customer Service Central, located in Bldg 381 (the building "on the hill"). Personnel specialists will walk you through initial arrival steps.
Mandatory Newcomers' Orientation
Newcomers' Orientation occurs each Thursday (except Federal Holidays and Wing Family Days) from 0720-1245 at the Airman and Family Readiness Center, Building 660. Newcomers' Orientation is MANDATORY for all active-duty personnel--regardless of unit of assignment--new to Travis AFB. Spouses of active duty personnel and DoD civilian employees may attend. Spouse Orientation Tour
Spouses are invited to attend the Spouse Orientation Tour. The tour occurs the 3rd Thursday of every month (except Federal Holidays and Wing Family Days) from 0900 - 1300. The tour begins at the Airman & Family Readiness Center, Building 660, and includes a visit to David Grant Medical Center, Outdoor Recreation, Military Personnel Section, Fitness Center, the Health and Wellness Center, and Balfour Beatty Community Center. Children are welcome- be sure to notify the facilitator if you plan on bringing them. Invest a few hours learning about the community, schools, and activities plus tools and information related to possible employment and conclude with a complimentary lunch. Click below to register.
