
The Air Force’s Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is designed to provide support to military family members with special needs. EFMP is comprised of three components who work together to support military members and their families.
EFMP – Medical (EFMP-M)
Provides medical information management support for EFMP enrollment functions and coordinates relocations for families who have medical or educational needs
EFMP-Assignments (EFMP-A)
Provides comprehensive and coordinated medical, education, community support, assignment coordination, and housing accommodation to families enrolled in the EFMP program.
Exceptional Family Member Program-Family Support (EFMP-FS)
Provides community support function provided by Airman & Family Readiness Centers (A&FRC) and includes, but is not limited to, on-and off-base information and referral, parent training, support groups, relocation assistance, financial management, and school information.

Air Force EFMP-Assignments New Facebook Page
In 2017, the Air Force Personnel Center created a Facebook page, EFMPAssignments. Its purpose is to educate and raise awareness of program benefits and options for active duty families enrolled in EFMP. It will feature assignments education, assignments myth busters and much more! The page will also highlight EFMP-Family Support and Medical as they relate to EFMP overall. So check out EFMPAssignments on Facebook for answers to questions you might have on the program.

EFMP Special Announcements
INCREASE TO RESPITE CARE
As of Jan 2018, Air Force EFMP Respite Care has increased from 12 to now 40 hours per month. In order to be considered, the family must be enrolled and have at least one EFMP-enrolled child under 18 y/o. Sibling care is also available up to 13 y/o. This is in-home care.
To apply: Your child's physician must sign, stamp, and complete the EFMP Verification Form. The physician can be military or civilian..whomever has the most oversight of your child's care. IF you have more than 1 EFMP child, you must have a form completed for each child. Once complete, you may scan/email to Child Care AwareR at or fax to (571) 255-4881.
Once received and verified, you will be contacted by our local provider "Bay Respite Care" to start scheduling home interviews with prospective providers. Call the EFMP Family Support at 707-42-4342 if you have any issues or questions.

At the A&FRC, and EFMP-Family Support (EFMP-FS) Coordinators are available to ensure each family receives comprehensive coordinated family support through the military and/or civilian community.
